How to check your NTC number
This is only for the Nepal Telecom SIM in the handset. It is not a directory of other people’s numbers. On a dual-SIM phone, select the NTC SIM before you dial.
On the NTC SIM, dial
*9#
Nepal Telecom’s useful-short-codes page labels this “Check Your Mobile Number.”
If nothing comes back
- Open the phone’s SIM settings and make NTC the SIM used for calls, then dial
*9#again. - Optional own-SIM registration check, same official list:
*922#(“Check Your SIM Owner”). That confirms the SIM you hold, not a stranger’s line.
What this page will not do
It will not look up another person’s NTC number, mix in Ncell codes, or cite the Philippines NTC.
Questions this page actually answers
Can I check someone else’s NTC number with *9#?
No. The official purpose is the mobile number of the SIM in the phone. This site will not describe workarounds for third-party lookup.
What is *922#?
On the same NTC short-code page it is “Check Your SIM Owner.” Use it only on a SIM you hold.
Does *9# need main balance?
The official short-code page does not list a balance requirement. If the code fails, use 1498 rather than a third-party “secret code.”
